Consultant Bio
A New York native and educator, Renee Nelson currently teaches at KIPP NYC. She brings a deep commitment to high expectations, thoughtful instruction, and pedagogy that equips students with the mathematical knowledge and financial literacy skills they need for their futures. As the child of two accountants and a mathematics major at Boston University, teaching math has been at the core of every project she takes on.
Renee was a member of the founding team at KIPP NYC College Prep High School, where she helped launch programs, traditions, and courses that continue to shape the school’s culture today. She is honored to have been selected as part of the development team for the new AP course, Business with Personal Finance, contributing to work that expands access to rigorous, real-world learning opportunities for students. Her work centers on curriculum innovation, financial literacy, and preparing young people to think critically and confidently about their futures.
