Susan Pingel

Susan Pingel taught AP® United States History for over 25 years at Skaneateles High School, a public high school in New York’s Finger Lakes region. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and Master’s degree from SUNY Cortland. A veteran College Board® consultant, Susan has led one-day workshops and APSIs for teachers serving in a variety of school settings; served as an AP® Mentor; and read AP® United States History exams, including serving as a Table Leader, and is a member of the PreAP® National Faculty. A recipient of teaching awards, Susan extended her own learning through opportunities from organizations such as the National Endowment for the Humanities, The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, and Colonial Williamsburg. These experiences and others led to multiple opportunities to develop and review curricular and test prep materials in print and digital formats. Susan is prepared to facilitate participants’ understanding and implementation of the skills, content, and concepts called for in the AP® U.S. History (APUSH) classroom. She will demonstrate and share a variety of time-tested techniques and explore new ones. Susan is looking forward to working with participants to help them find their voices as effective and efficient APUSH teachers.
